Active Ingredient Docusate sodium 50mg, total sennosides (calculated as sennoside B) 8mg.
Dosage Adults: 1 or 2 tablets at night; increase up to 4 tablets if required. The correct dose is that which gives a comfortable motion.
Contra Indications Abdominal cramps, colic, nausea, vomiting or other symptoms of appendicitis; undiagnosed rectal bleeding; intestinal obstruction; abdominal pain of unknown cause or previous allergy to stool softener laxatives.
Reactions Abdominal discomfort such as colic or cramps. Prolonged use or overdose may lead to diarrhoea and the possibility of developing an atonic, non-functioning colon.

Warning Due to the sodium content of docusate sodium, caution should be exercised when giving this preparation to patients with congestive heart failure or hypertension. Prolonged use of any laxative may lead to dependence. Patients should be advised to drink plenty of water and increase the fibre in the diet. Care should be taken in patients with inflammatory bowel disease.
