Patient Info

Constipation is fairly common, and fairly uncomfortable. It usually involves difficult or irregular bowel movements accompanied by hard, dry motions which are painful to pass. People's bowel habits tend to differ (for some a movement once a day is normal whilst for others it may be three times a week). If your bowel routine changes and you get abdominal discomfort or a bloated feeling, you may be constipated. Constipation can be caused by illness, reaction to medicines, changes in lifestyle or even today's hectic pace of life - which can lead to putting off going to the toilet.

Senokot Tablets work by giving a stimulus to the bowel (so you are likely to find yourself rushing with extreme urgency to the toilet). The correct dose of Senokot is the smallest required to achieve satisfactory results, so please follow the dosage directions.

Senokot Tablets are a category A product (no evidence of increased frequency of malformations or other harmful effects on the fetus) and may be used during pregnancy for the relief of occasional constipation. See your doctor first.  During breast feeding, use Senokot Tablets only in moderate doses, if other measures fail. High doses may cause diarrhoea in infants.

Warning Keep Senokot Tablets locked away where children cannot reach them.
